Sayyed Moein-Alddin Ali Tabrizi

Sayyed Moein-Aldin Ali Hosseini Tabrizi known as Shah Ghasem Anvar is one of the celebrated poets and noblemen of the Teymorid Period and is also considered as a mystic of the ninth century. Shah Ghasem Anvar‘s personality could rightly be said to have influenced his contemporaries insomuch as most of the contemporaneous biographers have praised him excessively. The present article introduces him and talks about his attributes, personality and his education. It also explains his travels and his visit with his contemporary wise men and the the story of Ahmad Lor that describes an attempted assassination of Shahrokh Mirza in 830 A.H. which greatly influenced Shah Ghasem‘s life. His poetic and prosaic works are also included in this description.
