Romanticism is a great artistic movement which emerged in the late eighteenth century and early nineteenth century in Western Europe. Literature and fine arts such as painting, architecture and music were influenced by this movement. After explaining the Hegel’s theory of art, we discuss the idea of this german philosopher about the romantic period and applied it as the theoretical framework of our research. Although each discipline of art could manifest just certain and limited criterias of an unique field, but researching in the related fields, promote realizing of art and the artistic movements. Hence, this paper verifies the relationship between literature and architecture in the romantic era and it seems to be too beneficial while we are trying to develop the interdisciplinary approaches. At first, we intend to express the romantic characteristics of some literature documents; Then we describe a few signs of romantic architecture in the buildings. Finally, we analyze the similarities and the differences between the romantic literature and romantic architecture. We manage to achive this aim after studing the romantic elements in the art and, more specifically, in the literature and in the architecture and comparing them with each other.
