Content analysis of Library and Information Science Research in Iran: Where Are our status in the World of LIS?

This survey aims to review and analyze the Iran LIS articles indexed in WOS during 2000-2011. Using a quantitative and qualitative content analysis, this survey tries to give a proper view of scientific productions in the field of LIS. The time period considered in this study is 2000-2011. Results of the content analysis of articles showed that out of 200 articles, "Internet (search engines…)'' and ''Bibliometrics (Scientometrics, Webometrics, citation analysis…)'' are the most frequently ones among special topics. On the other hand, ''Technology'' is the most visible category among broad subjects. Base on findings, it seems that several issues are not addressed by Iranian LIS researchers; issues such as ''Reference Services", "Conllection Development", "Library Invironments", "Library Automation", "Disability Services", "Archives/Preservation", and so on.
