The Study of Burnout Career and Effective Factors in Isfahan University's Professors

Abstract:
The main purpose of this research was studying the prevance career burnout in isfahan university's professors. Statistical community of this research was all the professors of 3 colleges: human sciences, engineering and science colleges. Statistical sample consisted 153 professors that were randomly selected through systematic sampling.Instruments were career burnout questionnaire by JACKSON & MASLASH(1981).Its validity was assessed by alpha chronbach (0/91). Other questionnaire that survied professors's perspective about prevention ways of career burnout, made by researcher and its validity was 0/88. Aims of this research were: 1) Study of scale of career burnout. 2) Study of difference of career burnout between 2 sex and different rank.3) Study of difference of career burnout in three dimensions: emotional tired, depersonalization and lack of interpersonal performance in 2 sex.4) Study of effective factors on career burnout. Burnout is the state of being extremely tired or ill, either physically or mentally because of working too hard.Results showed that the most frequency of career burnout in order were emotional tiresom, depersonalization, personal performance. Variance analysis revealed that females were tired more than male in personal performance, male were tired more than female in emotional and depersonalization dimensions.There were not any significant differences between participates based on the kind of the college in depersonalization and lack of interpersonal performance but there was significant differences between them in emotional tired and the professors in the engineering college was more than another two college.Also results showed that among 3 prevention ways of career burnout (organization, personal and environment), organizational and environmental factors were more important.
