A Study on the Indications of Cooperative Culture Amongst Farmers in Kermanshah Province

The research, being of a descriptive-survey nature, attempts to measure the cooperative culture among the farmers of Kermanshah Township in 1388 (2009). The statistical population is made up of the farmers in the villages of Kermanshah Township (N= 24,349), 350 of which were taken as samples using multi-level sampling. The findings suggest the existence of considerable tendencies to cooperative culture among farmers. Factor analysis results suggests four factors i.e. social responsibility, empathy, participation, sense of belonging and ownership, and economic improvement as the decisive ones in shaping the tendency to cooperative culture. Considering the results, cooperative authorities can take steps more confidently to seek better rural involvement in cooperative societies and hence in cooperative development.
