A Study of Relationship Between Attachment Styles with Family Function and General Health

Abstract:
Purpose
The main concern of this research was to investigate the relationship between attachment styles with family function and general health among the girl's students in university of Gilan.
Methods
The study design is correlation research. The sample was consisted of 185 girls students and was selected through multi-stage cluster sampling. For data collection Family Assessment Devise (FAD), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and Adult Attachment Inventory (AAI) were used. To analysis of the data person correlation coefficient and multiple regression were utilized.
Findings
Data analysis showed that there were significant relationship between secure, avoidant and anxious-ambivalent styles with family function and general health.
Conclusion
Avoidant and anxious-ambivalent styles were significant predictor for family function. And secure, Avoidant and anxious-ambivalent styles were significant predictor for general health.
