Impact of Imam Khomeini's Leadership on social capital, during the Islamic Revolution of Iran

Abstract:
Social capital is the set of elements such as social trust, norms and networks that improve communication and participation by community members and facilitate cooperation. Mobilizing social capital is a positive component for Integration of forces, strengthening cooperation and having significant role in the process of political and social change. This point has been important in revolutions that are major examples of social change. Because revolutions require participation, awareness and trust are possible by efficient use of social capital. In this paper, after examination of the concept of social capital and its dimensions, the theoretical and practical aspects of Imam Khomeini's manner in this regard are explored, relying on the analysis of his speech and thought. we show that the Imam Khomeini by optimal utilization of religious institutions, strengthened the three components of trust, integrity and partnership, in result he could manage to reinforce the Social capital of the Iranian community in order to constitute the Islamic Republic system.
