Abstract:
Borqa, as a symbol of visual culture of the Persian Gulf border inhabitants, is highly significant. The present article is a study of aesthetic characteristics of Persian Gulf women inhabitants. Borqa has a wide variety in the Persian Gulf border and each region has its own particular form. Based on the structure the author has divided these kinds into three categories: Cotton, Shileyi and Cloth Borqa. As for the analysis, one borqa has been selected randomly from each category and its aesthetic characteristics have been investigated. The results indicate that aesthetic qualities of Borqa are inspired by the environment. On the other hand, local rituals and customs have influenced the structure of Borqa. Borqa is made according to personal facial size; accordingly, each Borqa is specific to one person. Nowadays, Borqa has lost its appeal among women and it is gradually getting forgotten.
