Soft war and Security in Cyberspace

One of the recent developments in the international arena has been the revolution in Information and communication technologies (ICT). These technologies have had great impacts and caused extensive changes and developments in the concept of war in the concept of war in cluding such issues as soft war and security in cyber space. Indeed, these technologies have changed the essence of ware and created new space s for human activities. Also under the influence of such developments new forms of war (e. g: virtual or cyber war) have emerged and the traditional forms of war (e. g: psychological war) are signi ficantly changed. The present paper, in addition to discussion on conceptual dimensions of cyber space, tries to explain the impacts of this revolution on different military areas and emergence of new forms of war. There fore, we are now witnessing different kinds of war There for we are now witnessing different kinds of war in the international scene، because of new developments in ICT used in war fare. These include: asymmetrical warfare, info war, soft war & virtual war on the basis of our hypothesis: ICT has resulted in emergence of new forms of war fare, generally called virtual war, we will try to explain these new forms of warfare that have emerged as a result of developments in ICTs.
