Presentation of an operational model of human resource strategy through utilization of SRP theory in Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI)

Abstract:
By accepting the key role of human resources in creating competitive advantages and necessity of planning for managing of these assets, this research is aimed to present an operational model of human resources strategy based on model offered by Bamberger and Meshoullam (2000) through its implementation in Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI). At first, by considering the two dimensions of the model “quality of organizational control” and “quality of acquisition and maintenance of human resources”, we have made effort to determine the strategic goals of human resources. Then, tools of human resources in three sub-systems of human resources (supply, reward & performance evaluation, and staff relationships) have been studied from viewpoint of operational indicators. Upon clarifying the status of each of jobs in the matrix and analysis of results of each matrix dimension, strategies of human resources (paternalistic, contractual, commitment, and secondary) in different fields for each job have been drawn up.
