Effect of creative and critical thinking skills teaching on locus of control and general health in adolescents

Abstract:
Introduction
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of teaching creative thinking skills on locus of control and general health on youth.Method
high school students were selected and were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. They Responded to Rotter locus control Questionnaire and GHQ Questionnaire. The experimental group received educational sessions ( hours) about how to think critically and creatively. upon completion of educational sessions both experimental and control groups were tested with, California critical thinking skills test B form and Abedi creativity inventory and Rotter locus control Questionnaire and GHQ Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by ttest and Multivariate analysis of covarianceResults
Results showed significant differences between control and experimental groups in their locus of control, general health, symptoms of anxiety, sleep disorder and depression (P<.).Conclusion
Teaching of creative and critical thinking skills makes more inner locus of control and promotes general health and help adolescents to be able to challenge critical situations.Keywords:
