The reliability and validity of risk perception inventory in Iranian students
In order to test the reliability and validity of Risk Perception Inventory (RPI, Benthin,).
A sample of Iranian females and Iranian males, - years old (mean=), completed the RPI and Decision Making Styles Questionnaire (DMSQ, scoot&bruce,).
Test of the internal consistency of the RPI revealed that all items werehighly correlated with the totalscore. The Cronbach’s alpha for the Inventory was . The Pearson’s correlation coefficient between RPS and rational decision making styles and avoidant decision making styles were . and . . Factor analysis extracted a factor which accounted for %. of the total variance; all the items were loaded in this factor.
The results showed that the RPI is a reliable and valid inventory for measuring risk perception among Iranian students.
