Prioritization of Suppliers in Global Supply Chains by Fuzzy AHP Approach with a Case Study in Danial wire and Cable Factory of Shahrekord

Abstract:
Global supplier development is a multi-criterion decision problem which includes both qualitative and quantitative factors. The global supplier selection problem is more complex than domestic one and it needs more critical analysis. With reference to the past literature, it can be observed that only limited discussion of global supplier selection problem. In this paper, we proposed a model for selecting of the global supplier by analytical hierarchy process (AHP) based on linguistic variable weight. Fuzzy AHP-based methodology evaluated different decision criteria such as service quality, cost, risk factors, and supplier’s characteristics involved in the selection of the best supplier in a global supply chain. The linguistic levels of comparisons produced by the experts with triangular fuzzy numbers for constructing fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices. In order to evaluate the proposed model, it is perform in a manufacturing company. The proposed model can provide not only a framework for the organization to select the global supplier but also has the capability to deploy the organization’s strategy to its supplier.
