Corruption and Corruptors on the Earth from the Qur an's Viewpoint

Message:
Abstract:
The term Fesād (corruption) and its derivatives have been used in the Holy Qur’an about five times. This article seeks to provide the readers with its meaning and causes as well as different types of corruptors and their punishment from the Qur’an’s viewpoint. In the Holy Qur’an, Efsād means “to leave the track of moderation,” and people’s violation of God’s orders, tyranny of cruel kings, and friendship with the unbelievers are its manifestations which are themselves divided into two general categories: innate and acquired. The latter is divided into ideological, moral, legal, and social subcategories. The Holy Qur’an also imposes penalties for corruption in the current word and the world to come. Ideological corruptors will suffer punishment in the world to come while the moral corruptors will be punished in the current world. Furthermore, legal and political corruptors are introduced as corruptors on the earth and punished by the virtuous servants of God.
