Abstract:
Studying the most important work in theoretical mysticism i.e. Futuhat Makkieh of Ibn Arabi, clearly reveals that the author has chosen different approaches toward the prophetic traditions. He has shown great attention to jurisprudential traditions and has examined both their text and chain of narrators. Nevertheless, in concern to dogmatic traditions such a thorough inspection cannot be seen and he has employed different weak, segmented and implicitly interpreted hadiths. This approach is due to the priority he gives to mystical inspirations in such a way that the criteria for assessing the real from false hadiths, are also these mystical teachings. His approach to hadith can be critically challenged by different reasons; including the prophetic teachings on the guidance path, the mystical inspirations being subject to fallacy and other evidences on the inconveniency of the mystic's viewpoint.
