Anti-Dignity Elements in Viewpoint of the Holy Quran

Humanistic perceptions is one of the most basic issues in the contemporary thought. Examining the semantics of 'dignity ' and ' human' and human dignity in the Quran, this paper tries to detect the' anti-dignity elements ' in Quranic discourse. Issues such as human dignity and anti-dignity elements have long being studied in religious sources, but as these issues have essential connection with human-right subjects, the necessity of its study and re-definition in order to reach Quran's answer concerning today's problems is felt more than any other time. Anti-dignity elements can be examined from two different aspects: personal and social aspect.These elements are as follows: incorrect perception about human beings,sense of degration, arrogancy, voluptuousness, oppression and injustice, despotism, security menace, matters doing harm to social prestige by boasting, encroaching on individual private life, mocking, accusation, calumny and discrimination, which are thoroughly described in this paper.
