The impact of field introductory training on the psychological empowerment of the graduates of the management major: a case study

Regarding the position of the education among the nation's military forces and its role in employee's psychological empowerment, the current research intends to study the effect of field introductory training on the psychological empowerment of the graduates of the management major at Shahid Sattari University. The study was carried out empirically on 74 of the graduates who had entered the university in 2009. The data was derived through using pre-test and post-test according to the psychological empowerment questionnaire of Spritzer and Mishra. Based on five components of merit, effectiveness, significance, trust and autonomy, the psychological empowerment was measured. The data was analyzed using paired comparison test (t-student) and SPSS 18 software. The results of the study suggested that the field introductory training was effective with acceptable significance on the psychological empowerment of the students and thus the main hypothesis and four subordinate hypotheses related to the components of feeling of merit, effectiveness, job meaningfulness and autonomy other than trust component were confirmed. Finally, on the basis of research findings, some suggestions were offered.
