A Critique on the Translation of Saadi sGulistan in Arabic

Message:
Abstract:
"Golestan Sadi" is one of the comprehensive works in Persian Literature and has been translated in different languages such as French, Germany, English, and Arabic. Due to high significance of the book and getting the readers more familiar with this book, such research has been considered. One of the Arabic translations of this book is "Rozat Al Vard" by "Mohamma Al Forati". In spite of being familiar with Persian language, Forati has sometimes made errors in understanding and translating proverbs, metaphors and single words. As a result, he has failed to transfer the message of the source language into the target language. In this article we try to examine some parts of these errors. The procedures include dividing the errors into three parts of Proverbs, Metaphors, and Words. The basis of the article is to bring Persian phrases from Golestan Sadi text by "Soodi" description firstly and then Arabic text from "Rozat Al Vard" by "Mohammad Al Forati" with the necessary notes. At the end we also try to suggest the correct phrases instead of those phrases that are wrong.
