The Relationship Between Sense of Coherence and Job Performance With Intermediation Strategies of Coping with Stress and Mental Health

Abstract:
This study intended to investigate the relationship between sense of coherence and job performance with mediating strategies of coping with stress and general health. This is an applied and correlational research with random sampling method، sense of coherence scale (2006)، Paterson Job Performance Scale (1922). Blingz’s Coping with Stress Scale (1981) and Goldberg’s Mental Health (1979) questionnaires were distributed. The research participants were 349 employees of Islamic Azad University Ahvaz Branch during 2010. Path analysis was utilized to analyze the data. investigating the relationship between sense of coherence and job performance with mediating strategies of coping with stress and mental health indicated that sense of coherence not only directly linked job performance، but it also indicated sense of coherence linked job performance by emotion-center coping strategy، problem-center coping strategy and general health. Sense of coherence can be influenced by impressments on strategies of coping with stress (emotion-center and problem-center coping strategies) and general health.
