Abstract:
Norouz is an ancient Iranian feast celebrated every year in the beginning of spring. It is also a symbol of the waking of nature from winter sleep and a death which ends to resurrection and life relating it to the Farvahars. Iranian myths associate the origin of Norouz to the age of Jamshid and believe that with his accession to the throne the religion was renewed on Norouz. Norouz begins with the equinox in astrology، equinox in northern hemisphere is the time when the sun passes equator and moves northward. This moment is the beginning of Ram in zodiac which corresponds. With the first day of Farvardin (Urmazd Rouz) in the solar calendars and with 21stor 22nd and March in the Christian calendar. Norouz is a unique structure which is all goodness and chastity. Varjāvand is the day which was appreciated only by our ancestors to purify themselves of the vices and ill thoughts that have taken up their souls with the passage of time، and to restart a new life at the promised time. They chose Norouz as their greatest ceremony and added good thoughts and rituals to hold it dearer each year.
