The effectiveness of social problem solving strategies training on social adjustment

This study was performed aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of social problem solving strategies training on social Adjustment in second grades of guidance school girls students of Yazd city.Methode: Research method was quasi-experimental with pre-test, posttest design and follow-up testing with control group. The population of this study comprised girl students of guidance school girls of Yazd city during 2012-2013, that sample of 67 these students were selected using Multistage random cluster sampling and assigned in three groups (experimental,20, control 20 and placebo27). Experimental group were trained in social problem solving strategies training in 10 sessions of at most 60 minutes. After experimental, were tested of all groups post-test. In order to measure the main variable of the model used California Test of Personality. The results measures analysis of covariance and Post hoc test Banferroni showed that were improved social adjustment score, (F=6/62, P<0. 01). also Subscales of the main variable (social rolls, social skills, Family relationships, school relationships, Social relationships) was increased. But this intervention could not decrease anti- social attitude. According to the research findings can be said that social problem solving strategies training cause to increase social Adjustment. So this method as one of the possible ways to increase social adjustment may be applied during the critical maturation.
