The effect of facial impression on student's behavior in Trust Game

Trust is a construct which plays a crucial role in mental health and wellbeing of interpersonal relationships; and meanwhile optimize social functioning of various fields. The aim of present study project was to investigate the effect of trustworthiness facial impression on trust behavior.Methode: Firstly, 48 subjects (24 male & 24 female) were selected from the volunteer students and get divided between 2 groups – i.e. the control group & experimental group – randomly. Subject in each group were exposed to a virtual version of “trust game” in which they played in different situations with unfamiliar virtual opponents according to their group. Then, they were asked to answer Rotter’s Interpersonal Trust Scale (ITS). Research hypotheses were that lower level of “trustworthiness” facial impression decrease trust behavior. Furthermore, this study sought to find the role of the sexuality of trustees in the effectiveness of trustworthiness facial impression on trust behavior. Final results indicate that low level of “trustworthiness” facial impressions lead to decreased level of trust behavior. In addition, the results showed that the amount of subjects’ payment in trust game was highly correlated with their score in ITS.
