Guardian Council Supervision on the Laws Enacted Before the Revolution and by the Revolutionary Council

The main mission and jurisdiction of the Guardian Council is the safeguard of superior norms of Islamic Republic of Iran, i.e., the Constitution and Religion. Before the formation of the Islamic Assembly, the competent legislative bodies (the National Assembly and the Senate and the Revolutionary Council) have adopted laws that are nowadays implementing in the Islamic Republic of Iran though they have not been reviewed by the Guardian Council with respect to the abovementioned superior norms. It is one of problematic issues in the legal system of the Islamic Republic of Iran that how the council evaluates the lack of inconsistency or the non-violation of such norms. So, the core issue in this article is the possibility of Retrospective review of laws by the council. We are arguing that it is possible, but in any case, there is a separate argument.
