Yadollah Dehestani: The Majlis Member for Shahriar and Savojbolagh in the 5th- 14th Majlis of Iran

Yadollah Dehestani represented Shahriar and Savojbolagh in the 5th to the 14th Majlis of Iran. Unlike his counterparts in the 5th and 6th Majlis, Qasem Khan Sour-e Esrafil and Muhammad Sadeq Tabataba’I who did nothing to resolve the problems plaguing Shahriar and Savojbolagh, Dehestani attracted the attention of legislators to these problems and put forward the proposals to drain the marshes to battle malaria and establish schools to battle illiteracy.From the 7th Majlis onwards, Dehestani, however, restricted his attempts to write, enact, and amend the legislation.
