Experimental investigation of injector pump type effect on performance ‎parameters and emissions of ‎diesel engine at full load

Message:
Abstract:
The point of this study is a comparative evaluation of effects of DPA rotary and ‎PL linear injector pumps on performance parameters (torque, power and brake ‎specific fuel consumption) and emissions (Soot, NOx and HC) with variable ‎speeds of the engine at full loads. Thus each of aforementioned pumps were ‎installed and the engine was tested at 11 different engine speeds, from 1000 to ‎‎2000 (rpm) with 100 (rpm) intervals. The statistical analysis was conducted ‎by the Minitab software (version 16) based on the factorial test with a ‎completely randomized model considering the pump (linear and rotary) and ‎engine speed factors with 3 replications. Results of the statistical analysis of ‎data showed a significant difference at 1% level of the injector pump on the ‎brake torque and the specific fuel consumption, while there was no significant ‎effect on the amount of the brake power. The type of the injector pump on the ‎amount of emissions (Soot, NOx and HC) emitted from the engine, has a ‎significant effect on the level of 1%.‎
