Efficacy of Premarital Sexual Training on Self-Concept among Women in Marriage Age in Ahvaz

The purpose of the present research was to study of efficacy of sexual training based on Information and Motivation For Behavior skill (IMB) model on sexual self-concept (sexual-anxiety, sexual-optimism, sexual-depression, sexual self-efficacy, sexual-consciousness and sexual disclosure) among women in threshold of marriage in Ahwaz. Subjects and Statistical population in this research was all women who made positive response to instigator of researcher inluded 40 men and 30 women were assigned randomly to experimental and control groups. Research design was experimental (pre-test and post-test) with control group. Then, the experimental group received eight 90-minutes training sessions of sexual training base on the IMB model. The Multidimensional Sexual Self-Concept Questionnaire (MSSCQ) was used in this study. The result of MANCOVA showed that sexual training was significantly efficient on increasing sexual-optimism, sexual self-efficacy, and sexual disclosure and was efficient on decreasing sexual-anxiety and sexual-depression in women. This study confirmed that sexual problems can be prevented through education. The effectiveness of sex education before marriage can also be explained in such training and will help these women in marriage and the marital relationship sexual inhibition aside and enjoy their natural right to take it.
