Ethnic Challenges and the Reform Policy in Sultanate of Oman

Possessing more than 200 tribes and clans, different racial groups and diverse religions, Sultanate of Oman encompasses a wide range of communities and cultures. This research seeks to study ethnic differences and resultant challenges as well as Muscat government’s policy in dealing with these social realities. On this basis, undertaking aseries of political, cultural, social and notably economic reforms, Sultanate of Oman has sought to reduce violence and centrifugal currents while establishing infrastructures of development. It intends to prevent the outbreak of what is known as the Arab Spring.
