Feasibility of creating a digital library of public schools in Mashhad (A case study)

Digital libraries, are the most important achievements of web for the libraries and information centers that is allocated a special place in the virtual environment of the Internet. So the school libraries are also associated with the technological advances of this century, and they continue to grow and develop in the virtual environment. This study is on the feasibility of creating a digital library of public elementary schools in the city of Mashhad. Method of study is survey and to collect data used a questionnaire containing 29 closed questions, the library staff of the schools answered them. For data analysis SPSS is used. The findings show that despite the difficulties in funding and manpower skills in the schools facilities is of moderate level, averaging 3.47 and telecommunication facilities in schools with an average of 4.86 for the development of digital library is desirable.
