Message:
Abstract:

Panegyric poetry received due attention in both Persian and Arabic. This genre has attracted Persian and Arab poets in different eras. Onsori as a Persian panegyrist and Bohtori as an Arabic counterpart both tried their genius in this genre. Bohtori the Abbasid court poet، and Onsori the poet in Ghaznavi court، both praised the caliphs، sultans، ministers and governors of their age. There are many common and different themes in their poetry which are reflections of their life conditions and environments. This paper is to answer the following questions: 1. what are the purpose of the two poets in their praise? 2. Did both Poets praise the mythological character of the ancient Iran and Sassanid Akaserah? 3. To what extent were they honest in their praise? 4. How did they praise their devotees?
