Typology Orientalist's Hadith Scholarship With Emphasis on Islamic Jurisprudence and Law

Assistant Professor of Tehran University (Qom Campus) Lecturer in Specialized Center for Hadith Sciences Survey of the orientalists’ hadith studies indicates that fiqh al-hadith (hadith scholarship) studies after historical studies are known as the second area of their presence in hadith studies. Notably orientalists have not paid much attention to general and theoretical issues of fiqh al-hadith (hadith scholarship), such as the principles of understanding hadith, fiqh al-hadith (hadith scholarship) Resource Studies and etc. On the other hand, in the field of topical fiqh al-hadith (hadith scholarship) we find in their papers a variety of issues such as jurisprudence and law, Quranic studies, exegetical hadiths, character studies, theology, faith traditions, Islamic sects and denominations. The present paper makes a descriptive analysis of the important researches conducted by Orientalists in the field of fiqh al-hadith (hadith scholarship).
