Effective Teaching: The Practical Symbol of University Teachers

It is hard to define Teaching Practice despite its seeming simplicity. The undeniable role of teaching in educational activities has prompted reflection over its ideal definitions and methods. Such reflections have resulted in various achievements، each justified by evidence and arguments. But can one speak of and advocate an ideal method، model or strategy of teaching which serves as a path for the teacher (either in K12 or higher education settings) towards the ultimate end? The main idea of this paper (which targets university teachers as its audience) is that ‘teacherhood’ implies facing unique situations for which the ‘competency to create a model based on knowledge and experience’ plays a crucial role. Those who select teaching as a career should not exclude themselves to a single strategy، model or method which would supposedly serve as a universal solution in every situation. Nonetheless، one can attain certain rules of thumb which would be helpful for others in exploration of the teaching practice. However، knowledge of teaching strategies and reflecting upon teaching experiences is an imperative for creation of a fruitful method in every specific situation، and all effective teachers have «deliberative» actions and they are actually «practical».
