Application of Single-Constant Kubelka- Munk Theory for Analyzing Textile Color behaviors: Effect of Surface Reflectance and Mock Dyed Substrate

Message:
Abstract:
Color and optical properties of typical fibers of textile that benefit specific surface reflectance and internal scattering properties can be estimated according to the single-constant Kubelka-Munk theory. Various factors such as surface reflectance and mock dyed substrate may affect the measured reflectance of dyed samples. In the present study، a series of fiber 6 were dyed with acid and disperse dyes in different concentrations and the effect of surface reflectance and the reflectance of mock dyed substrate on the application of Kubelka-Munk theory for textiles have been investigated. The results showed the extent of the impact of the surface reflectance and the reflectance of mock dyed substrate is deeply dependent to applied dye concentration. It means that at relatively low reflectance، the surface reflectance values gets close to the reflectance of the dyed substrate. Consequently، the very large quantities for cquires. In addition، it was concluded that the influence of the reflectance of mock dyed substrate significantly decreases by increasing the dye concentration range.
