Robust Approach to Strategy Selection Considering Future Study Concepts

This paper proposes a methodology for selecting robust strategies in uncertain environments. According to the future study approach، at first some scenarios are defined to capture different probable future conditions affecting business environment، which will lead to consider multiple perspectives in the planning process. In order to make the strategic planning process more reliable and integrating strategies in different fields، a package of strategies including education، research، marketing، finance and human resource is favorable. To assess the performance of each strategy in each scenario a fuzzy inference system is used. In addition for designing a robust package of strategies a linear programming model is formulated. Finally in order to select the best robust strategy package a min-max method considering two approaches (one based on performance and another based on regret) is applied. The results show that the optimized package for each scenario contains some strategies which not only are proportionate and aligned but also are fit and relevant to conditions of related scenario. Also according to results the obtained robust packages have a desirable performance in all scenarios. In this study data gathering tool was interview and statistical population were all planners and decision makers of Kish international campus of University of Tehran. By snowball sampling method and interview with 13 people the requirement data have been gathered.
