Medicine and Dentistry Professor's Point of View About the Potential Effects of the Peers Assisted Learning at Babol University of Medical Sciences

Abstract:
One of the initiatives in education is Peer Assisted Learning system in which students play the role of teachers or their assistant. Regarding to benefits of this system, the present study aimed to survey the attitudes of medical and dental teacher's of schools at Babol university of medical science on peer assisted learning. Following a literature review, the researchers designed a questionnaire on benefits of peer assisted learning, then the study' population consisted of 214 medical and dental school teachers whom were selected randomly and, participated. The collected data were analyzed with Chi-square statistical test. The results showed that this system has the most impressions in student's self-confidence (50%) and student's communication skills (48.5%). Regarding to this results, it can be concluded that the dental and medical teacher's agreed with benefits and application of this system, As well as implementation of this active learning system would lead in capable work force.
