The Poetry Music in Saadi's Two Jeremiads

Message:
Abstract:
One of the reasons of the ever lasting name and fame of Saadi Shirazi in universal literature is the pleasant music of his poems particularly his two Persian and Arabic odes, lamenting the death of Abbasid caliph Al-Mutasim which were composed based on his intrinsic truth and philanthropy and they are replete with the different kinds of musical additives. He has successfully managed to make these poems more rhythmic by selecting two prosody meters, Raml and Tavil, which are considered the best framework for expressing the human's heartfelt feelings and applying different types of figures of speech like pun, symmetry and opposition as well as rhythmic words and syllables appropriate to the meaning and rhythmic atmosphere of the odes. The importance of this research lies in the fact that it demonstrates that Saadi, as a global poet, sympathizes with humanity and speaks influentially in mourning over Baghdad, the Islamic Capital of his time, The methodology is a combination of library research and textual analysis and it is conducted in a comparative context.
