The use of scrap tires to protect the beaches and coastal ecosystems as an effective solution to solve the problem of recycling scrap tires

About 15 million tiers (125000 tons) are recyclable every year. Scrap tires applied in many industries. Scrap tires have been used for protecting the ports, offshore installation, rivers and marine ecosystems for many years. Also, scrap tires extensively can be used as floating breakwaters, artificial reefs protection and submarine pipelines. Today, scrap tires is used for constructing the protective walls and structures with the connect them. The walls and structures can be used to protect coastal and marine ecosystems, widely. The performance and properties of these structures are still not well understood. In this paper, useful information about the various uses of scrap tires to protect the marine coastal ecosystems was compiled.
