Evaluation of study pattern and the attitude of medical students and residents about study resources (books and notes) in Zanjan University of Medical Sciences - 2013-2014

Students` tendency to notes instead of reading textbooks would have negative effect not only on learning process but also research interest and stimulation.present research was conducted to evaluate study habit and attitude of medical students and residents about study resources in zanjan university of medical sciences. In this descriptive study, 254 students from different level of medicine were selected through simple random select sampling. Data collection was done using a researcher-made questionnaire, the validity and reliability of which was confirmed.. Analysis was performed using SPSS16 by descriptive and analytical methods. The findings of study revealed that out of 50% of participients are studying until 3 hours per day. The first priorities for reading were notes, taking in classes, (45.9 %) and summary books (35.3%).The most reasons were easy access, saving time, and the probabilities of obtaining a higher score. Students had positive attitudes to notes. They, though, were aware of importance of studing the text. It seems that planning to improve the study habits and skills, applying new methods of teaching, more attention to forign language skills is necessary.
