A new record of Pyrola minor (Pyrolaceae) for the flora of Iran as well as a description of its surrounding habitats

Due to long term of foggy situation and cloud accumulations in the upper mountain belt and inaccessible places of the Hyrcanian forests، there are still some particular and specific habitats and plants which should be studied carefully. In this paper، beside to introducing a new record of the genus Pyrola (P. minor) for the flora of Iran، its specific habitat in south of Babol (Mazandaran) is explained. The genus Pyrola holds included already two species in Iran، P. secunda and P. rotundifolia. Habitat of the study area is characterized by occurrence of some endangered and rare species (such as: Lilium ledebouri) within very humid and upper-mountain orient beach forests and species-rich rocks. We suggest that the area is considered by the Department of Environment of Iran as part of protected forest reserve in the upper altitudes of the Hyrcanian area.
