Abstract:
In this paper we are going to investigate the ability to explain global system pattern in the analysis of social movements. The main question is how can the global system pattern explain social movements? Here first we explain theoretical foundations and characteristics of the theory of global system and depict methodological framework and analytical pattern of global system. Then we deal with the application of this pattern in the analysis of social movements. Considering fundamental developments taken place in political and social relations in globalization era, modern political and social movements take form in a different ground and have different nature, targets, and process and different consequences as well. Thus traditional analytical patterns are no longer able to explain causes and factors, grounds and beds, conditions and characteristics, and results and consequences of modern movements. However analytical pattern of global system seems to be able to explain these movements properly and matches the properties of globalization era and modern social movements
