The survey on the relationship between personality traits and Police efficiency from the viewpoints of Police academy employees

Background and By selecting a special job, each person chooses compatibility method, life pattern and different roles which have commensurate with his/her personality. Although it is very difficult to predict the efficiency of individuals according to their personality traits, but by awaring personality of one person, we may avoid from applying then in such occupations which have no proportionate with their personality. By focusing this matter this paper aims at survey on the relationship between personality traits and Police efficiency from the viewpoints of Police academy employees. The sampling method was multi-phase sampling by selecting 250 employees of police academy and using NEO test (1985) and annual efficiency score, correlation method and regression test for determining the relationship between variables. The findings of the research indicated that the correlation coefficient between neuroticism and efficiency was (0/058), between extraversion and efficiency was (0/096), between agreeableness and efficiency was (0/051), between openness and efficiency was (0/157) and between conscientious and efficiency was (0/038). There is no significant relationship between neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness with efficiency of police officers, but there is a significant relationship between openness and efficiency of police officers.
