Representation of Islam and Moslems feature in Computer Games
Abstract:
At the digital era, the social communication devices have sensibly altered the social regions with spreading various thought and different methods of life. The computer games industry also acts as an effective device in changing user behavior, so that models our cognition and thinking about the world with creating, transform and repeating of different representation. In survey of media writings, Ideological elements present beyond this writings and their effects on audienceinsight modeling is the subject that must be noted grandly. In recent years, Moslems imaging has became prominent in western Medias, especially in computer games. This article has effort to investigate the methods which the game producers use for imaging of Arabs and Moslems, researching on Arabs and Moslems imaging, justifiability structures and the game levels. For this purpose, three Ideological computer games created in recent years that are corresponding to Moslems and Islam, were Analysis with the qualitative semiotic analysis method. In this visionary system, a composite approach of Stuart Hall theories about Culturalrepresentation, is centered in Theoretical discussions, then Edvard saeed insight about Orientalism, is presented as a Symbol of representation theory usage. We show in conclusion that, Universal imperialism begins to creat a kind of Islam panic between general thought with a complex and synthetic mechanism, and makes its ideal imaging of Islam and Islamic culture in Audiences mind.
