Author(s):
Abstract:
Exchange rate and its effect on export extension through changes in export price on one hand and determinants of the amount of the effect on the other hand, are important topics in international economics. In this regard, and according to the importance of export promotion, this study tries to estimate and analyze export rate pass through and the effect of openness degree and inflation rate on it in Iran during 1350-1389. For this purpose, short- and long-run relationships are estimated using ARDL approach. The results present that there is a significantly positive relation between exchange rate and export price index, and the ERPT is 0.83. It means that a large part of exchange rate changes are transferred into export price of the origin country and a small part of it is transferred to import price of the destination country. The results also suggest that openness degree enhances the effect of exchange rate on export price and inflation rate increase ERPT in Iran.
