Considering Psychometric Characteristics of Depression Questionnaire and its Relation to Self- esteem in secondary Students in Ilam Province

Abstract:
In this research, it was considered the practicality, validity, reliability and norming of Kautcher Adolescent Depression Questionnaire (KADS- H) and its relation to Rosenberg’s adolescent self- esteem in secondary students in Holeiylan city daring schooling year 2013-2014. sample group with volume around 300 subjects selected by cluster sampling method by Kautcher’s 11- questions depression invoice- Rosenberg’s 10- questions self- esteem questionnaire was answered, then analyzed. One question was deleted because of having factorial load on two factors. Therefore it was obtained α- Cronbach 0.814. Reliability review by means of analysis of main components showed that the questionnaire is full of 2 factors, totally specified 47.233% of variables variance, including 1) depression negative thoughts 2) depression practical thoughts. By using pearson correlation coefficient, research results showed that there is a negative meaningful relationship between adolescent depression and self- esteem Cr =- 0.509, p
