The relationship between sport media usage and social capital in students of University of Tehran

Abstract:
The purpose of this research, was determine relationship between sports media usage and social capital in students of university of Tehran. The methodology of research was descriptive – correlation. The population of study consists of all students in university of Tehran (about 32000 students). Sampling method was classed which was selected randomly. Sample volume based on Morgan was 384 students. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire that was based on the integration of social capital Putnam and questionnaire of media impact. To ensure the validity of the questionnaire the initial questionnaire gave to 10 Experts and to confirm the reliability of the questionnaire used Cronbach's alpha (α=0.87). The analysis of data was done by K-S test, Spearman correlation tests.
The results showed that: Students sports media usage with social network rate (p=0.001, r=0.780), with rate of social trust (p=0.001, r=0.806) and with reciprocation (p=0.001, r=0.763) has significant relationship that it was a direct and positive relationship. Also regarding the students use of sports media and social capital there was significant relationship (p=0.001, r=0.812).
