Relationship between Spiritual Leadership and Job Engagement: A Case Study of Kurdistan University Employees

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the Spiritual Leadership and job Engagement among employees in the Kurdistan University. The research method was descriptive-correlation. Samples of 116 subjects were chosen through simple random sampling procedure. The data collection tools were a Spiritual Leadership (Fry¡ 2005) and job engagement questionnaire. Reliability of Spiritual Leadership and Work Engagement questionnaires according to Cronbach''s alpha coefficients were .91 & .80. Data analyzed using one sample t-test¡ Pearson correlation and multiple regressions. Results showed that mean of the Spiritual Leadership was higher than the average and mean of the Work Engagement was medium. Between Spiritual Leadership and its components was a significant relationship with Work Engagement. It was also found that component of a Hope / Faith has a significant role in predicting the job Engagement.
