Recognition and Analysis of the Principle of Autonomous Will and its Manifestation in Western Democracy with Benchmark of Islamic Political Thought

In the perspective of West contemporary political philosophy, political and legal systems based on divine permission, with a background of ignoring the human spontaneity and autonomy are compatible with heteronomy of human will, and are untenable and unlawful. (History) The impact of this view has made the relationship between autonomy and the will of divine permission ambiguous, and it tries to give legitimacy to autonomous wills as the sole criterion of law and legality of juridical and political institutions! (Problem) So, recognition and analysis of the principle of autonomous will and its manifestation in Western democracy with benchmark of Islamic political thought is essential as a forgotten matter. (Background) Therefore, the main question of study is whether there is a relationship between autonomous will and its manifestation in democracy in the West and Islam? (Question) To answer this question, one could examine the possibility of Sophistic relativism, especially in influencing and directing the wills and domination of error principle over all West epistemic systems, and its non-compatibility with divine permission in accepting the self-imposed will in political aspects (Hypothesis), to provide a clear picture of this principle in contemporary rival schools (Objective) using the documentary-analytical method. Islam's avoidance from heteronomy of human will and its emphasis on the principle of non-compatibility between the autonomy of the will and absolute human self-regulating legislation, and on the autonomous will based on insight and knowledge are among the achievements of this article.
