The Effect of Hand Reflexology on Fatigue in Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis

Fatigue is the most common symptom reported by patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study aimed to investigate the effect of hand reflexology on fatigue in patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Patients and This study is a randomized clinical trial that performed on 52 patient choosen from Imam Khomeini dialysis center in Zabol and devised into control and intervention groups by randomized method. Required information collected from a demographic and fatigue severity questionnaire. After the filling questionnaire by studies unit¡ hand reflexology massage performed in intervention group by a trained researcher for two times in a week. Every session lasting 5 minutes for 5 weeks. After the end of the third week and the fifth week fatigue set the scale to be completed by both groups.
the result of this study shows the both group¡ control and intervention are equal in demographic characteristic. As well as fatigue severity average number has significant statistics difference between control and intervention group at the end of third and fifth week( Pthe result of this study shows hand reflexology massage is a safe and economical method for decreasing fatigue in hemodialysis patient.
