Sufi Ladies in Bektashi Order in Anatolia during Seljuks of Rum

Abstract:
The issue of this article is to study the social, economic and cultural situation of woman in Bektashi Order in Anatolia during Seljuks of Rum. The main findings of this study show that Bektashi Order had an important role in innovation of traditions related to women and paved the way for modernity. Ladies from various social classes were related to mystical doctrines. They celebrated rituals and attended in Sufism ceremonies. They were responsible for reception of chivalrous. Not only marriage and taking care of children did not prevent them from their activities, but also provided their security in the society. These ladies also managed the affairs of Khanghah and Tekyeh and even reached to the spiritual rank such as receiving divine inspiration.
