Seroprevalence of Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale infection in broiler breeder flocks of Guilan province by ELISA

Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale is a pleomorphicgram- negative rod shaped bacterium that is associated with respiratory diseases in poultry. This study was conducted to determine the seroprevalence of O. rhinotracheale infection in broiler breeder flocks of guilan province by using a commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. 460 serum samples were collected from 22 broiler breeder flocks of 5 companies. Results showed that all the flocks (100%) were positive to ORT infection. Antibodies of the bacterium were detected in 289 (62/83%) of the 460 serum samples.
