The Discourse Arrangement of militant Groups against the Second Pahlavi

Author(s):
Abstract:
The weakness and the decline of Pahlavi government in Bahman of 1357 (February of 1979) was due to the act of different groups specially advocates of the political Islam discourse, which presented its desired myth in an instable atmosphere, subsequently, attracted the floating signifiers and collected them into an equivalent sequence. All these things together result in the expansion of its hegemony and defeat of Pahlavi discourse. At last, the so-called political Islam discourse represented itself as the prevailing one among its competitors. Answering the reasons of the conflict among political discourses, we can say, according to the study, that other discourses were unable to bring about their hegemonic requirements. This led to rigidity of discursive elements. In this atmosphere, the discourse of political jurisprudential Islam collects other micro discourses under the flag of the Islamic revolutionary one through applying two elements: subjectivity and Imam Khomeini’s leadership. The discourse of political jurisprudential Islam was more available and its superiority was being capable to afford signifiers with its elements with people demands –in which other discourses were not successful.
